Airports

For attendees traveling by air, Oxford may be most conveniently reached via the following airports:

  • London Heathrow (website), approx. 1 hour via direct bus to city-centre
  • Birmingham International (website), approx. 1 hour 15 min via direct train to city-centre

Alternatively, one may also consider the following airports, though travel to Oxford is less convenient/longer: 

  • London Luton (website), approx. 2 hours via direct bus or 1.5 hours via car to city-centre
  • London Gatwick (website), approx. 2.5 hours via direct bus or 1.5 hours via car to city-centre 
  • London City (website), approx. 2 hours via multiple trains/buses to city-centre
  • London Stansted (website), approx. 2.5 hours via multiple trains or 2 hours via car to city-centre

Airport Transportation

Buses from Heathrow, Luton, Gatwick and Stansted to Oxford (Gloucester Green) are operated by National Express (website). Tickets may be purchased in advance, or on the bus. 

Additional buses from Heathrow and Gatwick to Oxford (Gloucester Green) are also operated by The Airline (website).

Trains from Birmingham International to Oxford Station are operated by Cross Country (website). 

Ride share apps such as Uber, as well as taxis are also available.

Other options require multiple trains and buses, and are therefore not highly recommended.
